Beyond Duality: Repression Breeds Resistance
Rev. Jeanelle Nicolas Ablola -- May 28, 2018
Scriptures for today:
Second generation Filipino American, queer, trans, neurodivergent, anti-imperialist hailing from Paradise Hills in San Diego, California, Rev. Jeanelle Nicolas Ablola relocated to the Bay Area for seminary in 2007 and is currently serving at Pine United Methodist Church, San Francisco. They are rooted deeply in the movement for national sovereignty and democracy in the Philippines and regularly lead solidarity trips to the country. It is through activism that they experience deeper connection with Jesus Christ and the masses they are called to serve. They serve as Co-Chair of the United Methodist Church Cal-Nev Philippine Solidarity Task Force (PSTF) and on the steering committee of the National Ecumenical-Interfaith Forum for Filipino Concerns - Northern California (NEFFCON).
