Christine Haider-Winnet holds a Masters in Divinity from Pacific School of Religion, a BA in Peace and Global Studies from Earlham College and a Certificate in Women’s Studies in Religion from the Graduate Theological Union.

She is an ordained deacon in the Roman Catholic Woman Priest Movement, an organization of women and others who have been ordained validly according to Catholic tradition, but whose ordinations are seen as "illegal" because of their gender. She is currently in formation for the priesthood and hopes to be ordained a priest in 2017. Christine has spent most of her professional career in faith-based nonprofits where she helped people of faith organize on issues such as LGBTQ equality, Latin American solidarity and peace in the Middle East. She currently serves as a deacon at St. Hildegard Catholic Community in Berkeley, California and is a chaplaincy resident at a nearby hospital.

Christine lives in Berkeley with her spouse Alex, who is preparing for ordained ministry in the Unitarian Universalist Association, and two cats.
