Living Our Principles

Our Principles are based on Our Faith in Who God is,
and our Call to Live in God's Image

1. Universal Solidarity and Compassion

Choose to be part of a world where no one is left out or written off,
Choose to go the way of Love ‘til the end.
Practice forgiveness.

Based on "God is Love." (1 John 4:16); and God's call to us: "Love one another as I have loved you." (John 13:34); The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. (Galatians 5:6)

2. Intimacy with God and one another

Be/come aware of your shortcomings and your gifts.
Bring all of who you are to your relationship with God and others.
Cultivate spiritual friendships of authenticity, encouragement and challenge.
Practice forgiveness!

Based on God as "Immanuel - God with us" (Matthew 1:23), Ima/"Mother" (Isaiah 66:13) and "Abba"/Papa (Romans 8:15);and God's call to us: we are called to share ourselves and our gifts with one another (Ephesians 4:11), to bear each others burdens (Galatians 6:2) and to live as sisters and brothers in God's family (Romans 8:29.)

3. Incarnation/Relevance

"Bloom where you're planted."
Listen for God's call to you right now, in this time and place, given both the gifts and challenges that are yours, and then act on that.

Based on God's incarnation in Christ (Philippians 2:7-8); and God'scall to us: We are to reach out to our neighbors with Love first, meeting them where they are (1 Corinthians 9:19; Acts 1:8.)

4. Generosity

Practice accountable, disciplined giving of your time, talent and treasure. Practice generosity of spirit - being willing to admit wrong, to apologize, to share your heart and story, to give something up.

Based on God's prodigal generosity as the Giver of life, the earth and everything (Psalm 104:10-15); and God's call to us: We serve God by giving our time, talent, treasure and testimony for God's purposes in the world (Matthew 25:35; Deuteronomy 26:2; 1 Corinthians 15:58; Luke 6:37-38.)

5. Creativity

Deeply listen to the God who can make a way out of no way.
Open your action to be inspired and shaped by the spirit of God.

Based on God as Creator (Genesis 1:1); and God's call to us: We are made as creative beings in the image of a creative God. (Genesis 1:27)

6. Leadership

Decide that the things within your power will go well -
and then do what it takes to make that happen,
regardless of how you feel in the moment.
Organize people and organize money to advance God's dream.

Based on God as Lord and Sovereign (Psalm 8); and God's call to us: We are given power in the earth (Psalm 8:6) and called to reign in life (Romans 5:17), as a holy priesthood of all believers (1 Peter 2:5.)

7. Integrity/Faithfulness/Excellence

Do what you say by when you say you'll do it.
Close the gap between your walk and your talk.
Be/come a person of your word.

Based on God is perfect/whole (Matthew 5:8); and God's call to us: "Be perfect/whole, even as your Papa in heaven is perfect/whole" (Matthew 5:8.)
